Track Testing at Blackhawk Farms

Yesterday was an HPDE day at Blackhawk Farms hosted by Midwestern Council.
The event sold out and had alot of cars in each of the run groups. I signed up for the advanced run group hoping to get the car sorted out for the upcoming NASA event there on June 12-13.

Most of the day we ran the 245/17 Kumho race tires that were bought to be used on the Eclipse. These would be cheaper to replace than the bigger Hoosier tires normally ran on the Evo.

The day went very well and the Evo performed wonderfully with no problems whatsoever. For the last session of the day we put on a brand new set of Hoosiers to get them scrubbed in for the next event and see what time the Evo would run with them so we would have a glipse of where we were compared to the TTS class time from last years NASA Blackhawk Farms event. I am not going to list the best lap time that was achieved in that last session, but I will say that things will be quite interesting in TTS next event. We not only hit the time we had in mind as the goal for the day, but surpassed it. What a surprise that was!!! On a cooler day even better times might be ran. With temperatures close to 90 degrees yesterday it was HOT in that car!!

Later this week the car is to be sent off to hopefully finally get some decals put on it from our sponsor VS Motorsports. It will be nice to have them on for the Blackhawk Farms event in a couple weeks.

  1. You were right. Saturday was a fun day. For the right price, I will give the times. Only teasing. Thanks for a great day. Can't wait for the next big race. Trixie
